d'Arenberg The Footbolt Old Vine Shiraz 2000
d'Arenberg has been making this wine since the winery was built in 1927 - Bronze Medal Winner at the 2002 Brisbane Fine Wine Festival.
The big, dense ruby/purple-colored 2000 The Footbolt Shiraz possesses plenty of camphor-infused blackberry fruit along with underbrush, licorice, and earth notes. The 2004 Grenache is a blend of primarily Grenache with small amounts of Mourvedre, Shiraz, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Fashioned from 35 and 60-year-old Grenache vines, it boasts a deep ruby/purple color as well as an explosive nose of kirsch liqueur, licorice, pepper, and spice box.
