Mount Billy is owned by John Edwards and in 1993 planted 3 acres each of Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier in their desertscape backyard at Greenhills, Victor Harbour, Southern Fleurieu Peninsula. The first sparkling wine was released late December 2002. In 1999 he accepted an offer of a tonne each of handpicked 80-year old Grenache and five year old Shiraz from a local vineyard and Mount Billy was born.
