In short, the accolades that proprietor/winemaker Chester Osborn receives not only from The Wine Advocate, but virtually everybody in the wine world, are all well deserved.
Wine Advocate This is a terrific bargain. D'Arenberg does a noteworthy job with their 100% Grenache cuvee called The Custodian. Impressive is the exceptional 1998 The Custodian Grenache. A large-scaled effort with layers and body as well as gobs of black cherry fruit, pepper, and spice, this lusty, multidimensional, impressive 1998.

Australian Wine Companion Medium red-purple; a fragrant, aromatic bouquet shows spicy/tangy/earthy sweet fruit and subtle oak. The palate has an unusual array of flavours, spicy, almost lemony, picking up on those tangy characters of the bouquet. Stacks of character, but slightly left-field.
