Brokenwood-Beechworth-Pinot Noir-2013-750mL

A flavour some supple Pinot Noir. Vibrant colour and youthful tints.

Aromas are in the red fruit spectrum and very subtle oak.

Savoury fruit and ripe tannins feature on the palate. While this had some whole bunch included, there is sufficient fruit weight. Thus will mature further, although enjoyable as a fresh, zippy young Pinot Noir.

Clos Henri Vineyard-Bel Echo-Pinot Noir-2012-750mL

We believe we have to make the most of the experience acquired by the Bourgeois family, thereby making a Pinot Noir that respects the French winemaking tradition. We also believe that we ought to make a wine that respects the Marlborough character. This wine shows great classical lines while enriched with the astonishing Marlborough fruit personality. This personality is sourced from our unique terroir and revealed through its fine aromatic intensity. With the vines getting older, the quality and finesse of the Bel Echo is continuously surprising us and hints at the true potential of our site.” Damien Yvon, Winemaker

This wine was fermented in large French oak vats and then 40% was aged in these large oak vats to maintain fruit integrity. The remaining 60% went to old French oak barrels. This fine balance between the fruit and the oak enables the tannins to soften while helping to develop a vibrant and charismatic Pinot Noir.

Escarpment Vineyard-Pinot Noir-2012-750mL

Perfume, elegant fruit flavours, and soft ripe tannins are all hallmarks of this exceptional Pinot Noir.

Perfect weather in Martinborough during flowering in December 2011 resulted in an ideal crop which did not require thinning.

An uncharacteristically cool summer followed creating the distinctive Escarpment style showing complexity, attractive texture and the perfect mix of black, red and green fruit flavours for which Pinot Noir is celebrated. The fruit was hand harvested, fermented using indigenous yeasts then gently handled without pumping until it was pressed. Hand plunged every 12 hours then left to macerate on skins for an average vat time of 18 days.

It has been aged completely in French oak barriques, of which 30% were new, for 11 months.

Inspired by the classic wines of Burgundy, this Pinot Noir is a tribute to Martinborough’s unique terroir. It will cellar gracefully for up to 10 years.

Intriguing bouquet of dark fruits and forest floor, brown spices, dried herbs, and hints of old rose. You can almost taste the limestone. 2 years in old oak followed by 5 years in cellar. This wine is drinking superbly now. Unfined and unfiltered and bottled with very low sulphite levels.
