Cape Mentelle takes a non-interventionist approach towards this classic Margaret River blend of sauvignon blanc and semillon, preserving much fruit intensity and regional character. The style accentuates the fresh, vibrant fruit characters of both varieties with the added complexity and palate weight offered through a small component of barrel fermentation.
This wine was produced on a certified Biodynamic, Carbon Neutral and naturally powered estate. This outstanding blend from the 2018 vintage is a brilliant image of the vintage. Very high quality fruit with precise natural acidity guaranteeing great drinking over the next 10 years.
Pale in colour with slight green hues. Fresh and delicate nose with restrained floral and trademark gooseberry aromas aiding complexity as well as wet-stone and white apple notes. The palate displays vital lime, citrus and passionfruit flavours underpinned by a fine mineral acid backbone. Nicely restrained and poised version of Sauvignon Blanc that would pair brilliantly with a Goat’s cheese salad
