The grapes were sourced from the Hilltops GI of NSW, a dry Southern inland area with cool nights and warm days making this an ideal cool climate Shiraz producing region. The fruit was picked in the cool of the night and processed without crushing the berries, this reduces the extraction of overt tannin, in favour of more fruit freshness and vibrancy. Maturation has been in older French oak puncheons (500lt) for 12 months, rounding out the wine without adding too much oak flavour.
Beyond Broke Road Hilltops Shiraz is a rich Australian Shiraz balanced by bright fresh spicy cool climate aromatics and finish, at its core dark plum, mulberry and liquorice are held in check by fresh subtle pepper spice and flinty mineral notes. A round rich full bodied shiraz with a fresh blue fruit line keeping the finish tight and moreish.
