Wangolina was originally established under the name Wangolina Station with the planting of vineyards in 1999 by John, Jan and Anita Goode. With the retirement of her parents in 2013 and the sale of vast parts of the original family property, Anita Goode took ownership and a new identity and refreshed brand has been born.

The original plantings in 1999 were of classic French varieties; Semillon (1.63 ha), Sauvignon Blanc (1.55 ha) Shiraz (3.25ha) and Cabernet (1.77ha). The vineyard has evolved since its inception with increased Sauvignon Blanc plantings (to a total of 5.03ha) which reflects the quality of this variety within the region. A hectare of Pinot Gris was planted in 2007 and in late 2015 some of the original Semillon plantings will be grafted to three clones of Grüner Veltliner and one row of alternative trial white varieties.
Our vineyard is heavily influenced by the phenomenon known as the ‘Bonney Upwelling’. The low daily temperature fluctuations and ‘gentle’ sea breezes enable us to produce white wines with bright aromatics and true varietal character and reds with excellent acid balance, silky tannin structures and concentrated flavours.
